Designed to provide moderate direct pocket compression in the immediate post-operative period. Pocket Pal™ further reduces the possibility of hematoma formation by providing a means for cooling the operative site.

Clinical experience in pacemaker implantation has shown that moderate compression of the pacemaker pocket may result in a decreased incidence of post-operative hematoma formation. In addition, considerable literature demonstrates that cooling of an operative incision reduces capillary blood flow, thereby decreasing both incisional pain and swelling.

Pocket Pal™ conveniently combines these two principles in a single, unique device. An elastic and Velcro® harness provides moderate, direct incisional compression while decreasing patient upper extremity motion. The compression apron houses a pouch designed to position a cooling gel pack directly over the fresh pocket.
